Bicycle Maintenance Courses

We have basic, intermediate and advanced maintenance courses. They are ideal for cycle groups, clubs and businesses wishing to encourage members and employees to cycle more frequently. Courses would be delivered at a location convenient to your group.


CourseBasic Course

90min duration. Designed to teach cyclists how to carry out the essential basic repairs and set up their bikes.

  • 'M Check' is the bike roadworthy?
  • Bike set up
  • Preparing for a journey
  • Tyre wear advice, puncture repair, blown tyre solutions
  • Brakes, how to replace brake blocks, pads & balance
  • Gears, how to index and what those little screws do!
  • Cleaning & lubricating

The course is very hands on. All equipment is provided, the instructor will provide a cleaned bike with various mechanical problems and demonstrate how to fix each one. – there is no need to bring a bike or any tools.

This course can be delivered to groups of 6-8 people £20pp. We can also provide this course for individuals, if of interest please contact us to discuss.


CourseIntermediate Course

Up to 2 hrs duration. Aimed at cyclists who would like to know more about maintaining their bikes and keep them running smoothly. Perfect for cyclists who already have basic bike maintenance knowledge and want to improve their skills further.

Your instructor will provide a cleaned bike with various mechanical problems and demonstrate how to fix each one.

  • Changing cables
  • Fix a broken chain
  • Fitting a new chain
  • Replace a worn cassette
  • Remove & fit a chainset/chainrings
  • Fitting new pedals
  • Cleats, how tight?
  • Replacing bar tape & grips

All equipment is provided – there is no need to bring a bike or any tools.
If a group member’s bike would benefit from any of the above then the bike can be brought along and they would pay for any parts used. Note: this is by prior arrangement only.

This course can be delivered to groups of 4-6 people for £25pp. We can also provide this course for individuals, if of interest please contact us to discuss.


CourseAdvanced Course

Up to 3 hours duration. Aimed at cyclists who would like to know more about maintaining their bikes and keep them running smoothly. This is aimed at regular riders such as those cycling to work, mountain bikers, sportive and racing cyclists. It would also suite those riders planning to do some touring.

Your instructor will provide a cleaned bike with various mechanical problems and demonstrate how to fix each one.

  • Snapped spokes and truing wheels
  • Headset: when and how to service
  • Fitting handlebar stem
  • Fitting rear derailleur and front mech
  • Replace bottom bracket

All equipment is provided – there is no need to bring a bike or any tools.
If a group member's bike would benefit from any of the above then the bike can be brought along and they would pay for any parts used. Note: this is by prior arrangement only.

This course can be delivered to individuals or a maximum of 6 people from as little as £30pp.
