Macclesfield Mountain Biking
Guided Rides in and around the Peak District
Set in the beautiful area of Macclesfield & the Peak District, the heart of mountain biking in the North West.
With a mainline Manchester to London station (less than 2hrs from London) rides can start in Macclesfield or alternatively if travelling by car we can arrange to meet at a pre-arranged place such as Hayfield, Edale, Castleton, Buxton & Ladybower.
The distance and technical difficulty will be tailored to your requirements. We have many different routes suitable for novices & families through to experienced mountain bikers. You can book a half day, full day or 2 day rides.
Whilst we are out on the ride we can also teach fundamental mountain biking skills so you can handle your bike more effectively, and offer tips on bike maintenance and emergency repairs.
Our Mountain Biking Qualifications
All our leaders hold as a minimum:
- Level 2 Mountain Bike Instructors Award Scheme (MIAS) qualified. See Details. The course has national accreditation and is recognized by: The Association of British Cycle Coaches (ABCC) and Cyclist's Touring Club (CTC)
- Outdoor First Aid & Incident Management Qualification.
- Besides formal qualifications our leaders have many years of mountain biking experience.

½ Day / Full Day / Two Day

(Max 6 people per guided ride)
What to bring
- Fully serviced and operational bike (or pre-booked bike hire, see below)
- Suitable cycling clothing relevant to the time of year and weather conditions
- Helmet (no helmet, no ride)
- Tool kit including pump & spare inner tube
- Water bottle / hydration system
- Lights for night rides
- Specific spares for your bike, e.g. brake pads and rear mech hanger.
- Gloves & Riding Glasses
